A letter from Trump to Tehran at a critical time .. A strong Iranian response

Sources told Reuters on Friday that President Donald Trump sent a letter to Iran via Oman, coinciding with reports that Edul Trump had reported a military strike on Iranian targets.

Trump stressed in his letter that he was unwilling to go to war with Tehran and wanted dialogue, but warned of an imminent attack that could target Iran, Reuters quoted unnamed Iranian officials as saying.

The officials said Trump gave the Iranians a “limited time” to respond to his message.

Iran’s immediate response to the US president’s message was to confirm the position of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, who refuses to hold any talks with Washington, but Iranian officials said Khamenei would receive the message.
