FTSE Russell adds IJM Corp to FBM KLCI – Business News

KUALA LUMPUR: FTSE Russell, the global index provider, has announced one change to the constituents of the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) with IJM Corp Bhd added to the index and SapuraKencana Petroleum being deleted.

In a joint statement yesterday, FTSE Russell and Bursa Malaysia said this followed the semi-annual review of the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Index Series yesterday.

The index series is reviewed semi-annually in accordance with the index ground rules.

Part of the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Index Series, the FBM KLCI is widely used by investors as the primary benchmark for the Malaysian market, including derivatives through the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI Futures and FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI Options.

The benchmarks were also tracked by a number of index-linked financial products such as exchange traded funds, FTSE Russel and Bursa Malaysia said.

The reserve list will be used in the event that one or more constituents are deleted from the FBM KLCI in accordance with the index ground rules during the period up to the next semi-annual review.

All constituent changes will take effect at the start of business on Monday, Dec 19, 2016 and the next review will take place in June 2017.
